Poker

Known as the mother of all gambling games Poker is believed to have derived its name from the Irish word “Poca” or French word “Poque”. This game was played during the Civil War where so ldiers used to play this to pass the idle time. The game Poker involves both the elements of skill and luck. There are many variations in the game Poker. The primary game being the same the players are dealt cards and play against each other to make the best hand. Each player at the table receives five or more cards and the player has the ability to trade in a few cards a predetermined amount of times this is known as Draw Poker. Apart from this there is also Stud Poker in which the players receive cards one at a time with some of them exposed and some faced downwards. The player cannot trade any of their cards and must try hands using only their cards.

In some Poker games players can also play both his as well as the community cards available to everyone. There is also Community Card Poker where the player attempt to make the best five card hand using both the cards dealt to him with the community cards in middle. In Poker these community cards can be used by any player at the table, adding an element of uncertainty to the game.
